JOB POSTING

JOB NAME: Boiler Operator

SHIFT / WORK HOURS:
Rotating Shift. This shift works 12 hours when scheduled. Scheduled work hours are from 8 AM to 8 PM or 8 PM to 8 AM. Hours may vary due to business conditions. At times, the 3rd shift operator will work until 9 AM.

SHIFT PREMIUM:
This position is eligible for a shift premium. The premium is 7.7%

To be eligible for the premium – associates can not have any attendance occurrences, including days tardy.

REPORTS TO:
This position reports to the Environmental Engineer.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF JOB DUTIES:
Associate will be responsible for the operation of boilers. Duties will include coal handling, coal ash handling, sludge handling, maintaining steam flow to the plant, continuous monitoring throughout the shift, and adhering to all safety and environmental policies. Associate may also be trained to work in other Utility areas at Pendleton. Job will require associate to work in high paced work environment.

PAY RATES:
$15.01 /hr for D-Certification

PPE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:
Earplugs (When working in boiler room)
Steel Toe, Slip Resistant, Waterproof Boots (100 Percent of Time)
Gloves (Minimal Use)
Safety Glasses (Minimal Use)

REQUIREMENTS:
Internal candidates must have excellent attendance.
Associate must have a positive attitude.
Associate must have a desire to continuously learn the job.
Associate must be able to communicate with others.
Associate must be willing to get dirty (work uniforms provided).
Associate must be willing to end his/her break abruptly when the job requires it.
Associate must be willing to work outside in unfavorable weather conditions.
Associate will need to have at least moderate mechanical aptitude.
Associate will need to possess basic math skills.
Associate will need to possess basic computer skills.
Associate will need to be able to climb ladders.
Associate will be part of plant safety process.

PREFERENCES:
Associates should have a Mobile Equipment License
