IT ALL BEGAN THE MORNING OF MAY 1, 1968... 


Sam B. Phillips, Jr., got up, put on his coat and tie, and walked down the hallway in his house to the spare bedroom. There, he hung up his coat, sat down at his desk, and went to work.

From that quiet and humble beginning - and with equal parts effort, passion and persistence - Phillips Staffing has grown to become a full-service staffing, professional placement, payroll management and HR consulting firm. BLANTON PHILLIPS
PRESIDENT/CEO

Blanton Phillips “grew up,” quite literally, with the Phillips organization, which was founded about 6 months before he was born. After working summers in the business during high school and college, Blanton came on board officially in 1991 as a recruiter before progressing to branch manager. Since then, he has filled a number of key roles in the company, before becoming President & CEO in 2009. He has overseen substantial growth and development of the company, as well as diversification into supplemental business lines and services that have made Phillips an industry leader and innovator.


Blanton earned a B.A. degree from Duke University in 1991 and an MBA from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1996. He serves on the Board of Directors of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, as well as those of GrandSouth Bank, Next Charter High School, SubAir Systems, and Meridian Resources, and he is involved with numerous other business and civic organizations. He lives in Greenville and enjoys golf, music, and spending time with his wife, Beth, his two children, and their two Labrador Retrievers.

Ed Parris
President Staffing Group

President of Phillips Staffing, Ed Parris is a senior human resource professional with over 25 years of experience in every facet of human resource, including personnel staffing, training, wage and hour administration. His experience includes serving as corporate H.R. Director of a large international consumer products company and H.R. Manager at Milliken & Co. For the past ten years, Ed has consulted with an extensive list of Upstate manufacturing companies, including automotive, consumer durables, medical devices, healthcare products and metal manufacturing companies. He is particularly well known for understanding the corporate culture and specific industry requirements of his client companies, especially in the area of human resources and workforce readiness initiatives.


Ed is a State Director of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and also serves as Workforce Readiness Director. He is an active member of the Anderson Area SHRM and Pickens SHRM and a past director of Greenville SHRM. Ed was recognized for his involvement in economic development and named a South Carolina Ambassador for Economic Development by Governor Mark Sanford. Most recently, he was named among the top four finalists for 2013 South Carolina Human Resource Professional of the Year.

DONNA GADDIS
VP Business Development / Client Services

Donna Gaddis serves as Vice President of Business Development/Client Relations.With 29 years of service with Phillips, Donna has been involved with all aspects of the business including operations, sales, training and recruiting. She has opened new offices for Phillips, set up Managed Staffing programs for a variety of companies, established quality programs and has been involved with recruiting a wide range of employees, including technical employees.


Donna has a degree from Clemson University and is a member of the National Society for Human Resource Management and the Greenville Society for Human Resource Management where she has served on various committees.

RICK REDMON
Vice-President of Operations

With 25 years of experience in executive leadership, business ownership, development and training, Rick has led a multi-million dollar training and organizational development business, introducing advanced hiring, assessment, change management and leadership training systems for companies of all sizes. He also has owned/run a chain of restaurants.


A native of Lexington, Kentucky, he earned his B.S. in Psychology from the University of Kentucky and a Master’s in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Clemson University. He resides with his wife and three children in Powdersville, South Carolina.

Caroline Calder
Senior HR Director

Caroline Calder is the Director of Human Resources for S.B. Phillips Co., Inc. Caroline joined the Phillips team in 1994 and has been part of various facets of the business from human resources, training, management, and business development. She is a member of the Greenville Society for Human Resource Management of which she has served as the Community Outreach Chair and in other volunteer capacities with the local chapter. Also, Caroline has served as a member of the National Society for Human Resource Management.


Caroline earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina. She has been actively involved in the community by being a volunteer as well as serving as a past board member for local non-profit organizations.

BEVERLY DEAL
Work Force Readiness Director

Beverly joined Phillips in 2010 as Workforce Readiness Director. She has more than two decades of experience in staff development and training, workforce development, and talent recruitment and management. In 2013, she was promoted to Branch Manager of the Spartanburg branch. In her new role, she works with both new and existing clients across Spartanburg County to provide staffing and human capital solutions that lead to increased growth and success for those clients. She focuses her time working with businesses and organizations seeking talent primarily in the areas of light industrial, logistics and distribution, accounting, finance, office management and construction, while directing operations of Phillips Staffing’s growing Spartanburg office. She also continues to serve as Phillips Staffing’s company-wide Workforce Readiness Director. Beverly is an authorized WorkKeys Job Profiler and a Career Development Facilitator Instructor.


She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication.


In the community Beverly is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), active with the Greenville SHRM chapter and 2014 President of the Spartanburg Human Resources Association. Beverly is also a member of the Greer Chamber Leadership Development Council, the Leadership Spartanburg Alumni Association and a graduate of Leadership Cherokee and Union. In addition, she serves on the Spartanburg Chamber of Commerce WORC Committee and is a Clemson Leadership Summit alumni.

CATHY BRILL
Aiken Branch Manager

Cathy joined Phillips Staffing in 2009 and serves as the Branch Manager for the Aiken office. Prior to joining Phillips, she was Manager of Public Relations for Brett Communications and Office Manager for Houndslake Corporation.She is a member of the Central Savannah River Area Society for Human Resource Management, the Greater Aiken Chamber of Commerce, and is a licensed South Carolina Real Estate Broker. Cathy is also active in the Aiken community.


She is a member of the Central Savannah River Area Society for Human Resource Management, the Greater Aiken Chamber of Commerce, and is a licensed South Carolina Real Estate Broker. Cathy is also active in the Aiken community.


In 2012, she received the Phillips Staffing President's Club Award.


Cathy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies and Spanish from Washington College. She was class Valedictorian and recognized with the George Washington Medal and Summa Cum Laude honors.

Kristina Simmerman
Anderson/Easley Area Manager

Kristina Simmerman is the Area Manager for the Easley and Anderson offices. She currently has 11 years of service with Phillips Staffing and is involved with all aspects of both branches including sales, marketing, perm and temp placement, recruiting and payroll. Kristina is on the board as Secretary for the Pickens County Society for Human Resource Management, and is a member of the Easley Chamber.


Prior to joining Phillips Staffing, Kristina worked in Charleston as Customer service representative and payroll clerk. She was later transferred to Greenville and promoted to the Assistant Manager.


Kristina lives in Pickens County and enjoys spending time outside with her family and two dogs.

Monica Graham
Lancaster Branch Manager

Monica Graham joined Phillips Staffing in 1993 and worked in various roles including reception, CSR and CSS. She was promoted to Branch Manager of the Lancaster location in 1999. In her current role she is responsible for sales, networking, recruiting, job placement and interviewing.


Prior to joining Phillips Staffing, Monica attended York Technical College and received a Medical EMT-I degree. She worked part-time as a Medical Technician in emergency transport before deciding to pursue a full career in human resources.


Monica has over 20 years experience in staffing and human resources and is a past recipient of the Phillips Staffing President's Club Award.


In the community she is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management Carolinas Chapter, WIA Board Vice Chair, RECAB Board Vice Chair, Strategic Planning Committee Chair with WIA Board, Lancaster Chamber of Commerce member, Active EDG member, previous WAT Lancaster Team member and active in Lancaster & York County Workready Communities Planning.


Monica also volunteers with various charities benefiting cancer program and local veterans. In addition, she is involved the children's and adult women's ministries at her church.

Charlene Lynn
Greenville/Simpsonville Branch Manager

Charlene Lynn became the Branch Manager of Phillips Staffing in Simpsonville, SC in 2011. Charlene was originally with Phillips Staffing in 2002 in the Duncan branch as a Recruiter. She is responsible for Business Development, Recruiting, On-site Management and Branch Operations.


Charlene has a wealth of knowledge in the automotive industry. Her experience working with area Quality Engineers has given her a tremendous knowledge of Six Sigma, Quality Auditing and Reporting, Foreign Trade zone, product containment and rework, ISO9001 and Quality Management systems. Charlene has 14 years experience with Management, Human Resources, Insurance and Accounting.


She has a strong Technical and Professional Recruiting background. She has recruited for Quality Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Accounting Managers, Variant Configurator Engineers, Plant Managers, Finance Managers, and other Professional Placements. Charlene enjoys working with clients on temporary and temp-to-hire assignments, as well as direct hire placements. Charlene has a great wealth of knowledge with on-site management for client companies.


She has a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and Finance. She also attended Greenville Technical College, where she studied Computer Technology, and was licensed in Life & Health Insurance and Property and Casualty Insurance. Charlene is also a member of the Fountain Inn Chamber of Commerce.


She lives in Duncan and enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.

ANN WHITED
Senior Recruiter

Ann Whited serves as the Senior Recruiter for our Phillips Staffing team. She joined Phillips Staffing in 2000 and was involved in the complete start up of the Seneca office where she served as the Branch Manager. Ann's specialties include branch operations, business development, recruiting and customer relations. She has over 25 years experience in the staffing and human resources industries. Prior to joining Phillips Staffing, she was Human Resource Manager at Oxford Industries and Staffing Manager for Etcon Staffing.


In the community she is actively involved in the Society for Human Resource Management, Northeast Georgia Employer Committee and a member of the Seneca and Lavonia Chambers of Commerce. Ann is also active in the Town of Salem's community events and Salem United Methodist Church activities. She was formerly President of the Oconee Chapter SHRM.

Greg Lewis
Charleston Branch Manager

Greg joined Phillips after more than a decade of experience in managing, directing, recruiting and training manufacturing and logistics associates for such organizations as Magna, Faurecia Automotive Interiors, Collins & Aikman, Fehrer, Caterpillar, AFL, Plastic Omnium and others across South Carolina. Most recently, he directed operations for a large national staffing and recruiting firm office in South Carolina’s Upstate region.


As Branch Manager, Greg works with both new and existing clients in the Tri-County region to provide staffing and human capital solutions that lead to increased growth and success for those clients. He focuses his time working with businesses and organizations seeking talent primarily in the areas of light industrial, accounting, finance, office management and construction, while directing operations of Phillips Staffing’s growing Charleston office.


A native of Charleston, South Carolina, Greg is an active member of the Simpsonville Area Chamber of Commerce, Mauldin Chamber of Commerce, Greater Summerville/Dorchester Chamber of Commerce and the Charleston Metro Chamber. He also is active in workforce development and educational initiatives and currently resides in North Charleston. Greg attended The College of Charleston and has a 17 year old son.

TRACY HOWARD
Seneca Branch Manager

Tracy is a native of Taylors, South Carolina, and joined Phillips Staffing in 2011. She has more than two decades of experience in staffing, recruiting, sales and management for industrial and telecommunications organizations. She holds a degree in Business Management from the University of South Carolina Upstate.


As Branch Manager, Tracy works with new and existing clients across their regions to provide staffing and human capital solutions that lead to increased growth and success. She works with businesses seeking talent primarily in the areas of light industrial, logistics and distribution, accounting, finance, office management and construction, while directing all operations of her office.


Tracy has two children- Taylor and Austin. In her free time she loves to spend time with her family, swim, and boat. She is also a huge Clemson fan!

Helen Schenck
Gaffney Branch Manager

Gaffney native Helen Schenck joined Phillips in 2010 and has 15 years of professional experience in human resources, staffing, recruiting and management. A current resident of Lawndale, North Carolina, she attended Limestone College and has particularly deep experience in industrial, healthcare, distribution and manufacturing circles. She is an active member of the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce, and holds multiple certifications from the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health. She is married with two children.


As Branch Manager, Helen works with new and existing clients across their regions to provide staffing and human capital solutions that lead to increased growth and success. TARA CASON
Director of Payroll/Tax

Tara Cason joined Phillips Staffing in 2008 as Payroll Manager. She has over 20 years of payroll law, tax, and processing experience, and extensive working knowledge of payroll operating systems.


Phillips Staffing provides payroll and administrative services to any company any size anywhere. Tara works hard and smart to be a trusted resource and business partner, using technology and web-based solutions to deliver services quickly, conveniently, and securely, with a staff committed to prompt, personal service.


She graduated from Tri-County Technical College with an Associate Degree in Financial Management and is a member of the American Payroll Association.

CARLY LINEBERRY

KIM RUUD
Client Service Specialist

Kim, who holds the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from the Human Resource Certification Institute, joined Phillips in 2014 after more than fifteen years of experience in staffing and human resources. Most recently, she served as Human Resource Specialist for a global engineering firm based in Greenville.


As Client Services Specialist, Kim will work to provide business development and client support for Phillips Staffing’s headquarters and ten branch locations.


A native of Easley, South Carolina, Kim attended Lander University and Greenville Technical College where she studied Communication, Art and Technology. She is an active member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
